Amanda Anisimova Shares Concerning Update Ahead of Indian Wells

World No. 6 Amanda Anisimova shared a concerning update just a day before the main draw of the Indian Wells Open (WTA 1000) commences in California. Like many other top seeds, Anisimova would be aiming to get her season back on track and win her maiden title in Indian Wells.

Anisimova had a disappointing run in the Australian swing, followed by a lackluster performance in the Middle East swing, despite reaching the semifinals of the Dubai Open. Fellow American Jessica Pegula has been her kryptonite this year, as she has been ousted by Anisimova both in the Australian Open and the Dubai Open.

Anisimova shared some joyful images from her training session in California, as the American is happy to be back on home soil and aiming to find form at the upcoming Indian Wells Open. In the images, the former Wimbledon and US Open finalist can be seen posing with her racket against a background of tall palm trees and sunlight.

The tournament schedule has yet to be announced, as the top names in women’s tennis eagerly await their potential path to the title. So far, no top-ranked player has announced their withdrawal from the event; therefore, it is expected to be a fiery competition as many would be eyeing glory in the first tournament of the Sunrise Swing.
