Ohio State Buckeye wide receiver Jeremiah Smith never had any plans of leaving Ohio State in a day and age where more and more college athletes switch colleges via the transfer portal.
Despite coming up short of a national championship title and losing to the Miami Hurricanes in the College Football Playoffs, Smith reiterated his loyalty as a Buckeye Saturday to the media.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Smith spoke about how he had offers from other teams to join their team this offseason. He even alluded to his hometown Miami Hurricanes as being one of those teams that “everyone knows,” approached him after their game this season.
Smith is a Miami native that attended Chaminade-Madonna Prep High School. Smith also spoke to former Miami quarterback Cam Ward about joining the team prior to signing with Ohio State on Signing Day. He’s also stated that he would love to be drafted by the Miami Dolphins.
Jeremiah Smith Will Likely Be A Top-10 Pick in 2027 NFL Draft
One thing is for certain- Jeremiah Smith will be back at Ohio State this fall for his junior season. In his two first two seasons at Ohio State, he’s become one of the Ohio State great wide receivers, and will continue to build to his legacy this fall.
Smith had extremely productive seasons as a freshman and sophomore, with a more productive first year, recording 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. This past season, he had 87 catches for 1,243 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. Additionally, he has two career rushing touchdowns.
Smith is highly regarded as the best WR returning to college football this season. With quarterback Julian Sayin entering his sophomore season, he and Smith should be one of the best QB-WR duos in college football this season.
