Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is in Indianapolis as an invitee to the 2025 NFL Combine at the Lucas Oil Stadium. And while he won’t be participating in the drills to keep his focus on meeting with franchises, he did take part in a post-event workout with none other than Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

Shedeur Sanders Training With Cam Ward and Xavier Restrepo
Ward and Sanders are being regarded as the top two quarterbacks in this year’s draft pool thanks to their incredible production last season. The two, alongside Miami wide receiver Xavier Restrepo, were seen training together after the conclusion of Day 1.
As seen in a clip on X, Sanders did a few passing drills with the WR and ran a few laps around the field.

College Sports Network’s latest mock draft by Owain Jones projects Ward to be selected as the No. 2 overall player by the Cleveland Browns.
Jaones’ analysis of the Miami QB reads:
“Cam Ward is a creative playmaker who has excellent arm strength and instincts. He will need to stop putting the ball in harm’s way so often at the NFL level. That said, the Miami Hurricanes quarterback possesses the attributes of a modern NFL passer, which should secure him a high selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.”
Ward passed for 4,313 yards in his 2024 campaign which led to 39 touchdowns on a 67.2% completion rate. He finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy ranking.
Meanwhile, Sanders is projected to head to the Big Apple with the No. 3 overall pick.
His analysis says:
“Shedeur Sanders is an impressive, game-manager-like quarterback with an NFL-ready skill set. While his arm strength is average at best, the Colorado passer has the accuracy, vision, and athleticism to be a starter as a rookie.”

The Colorado QB threw for 4,134 yards and 37 scores on a 74.0% completion rate, which saw him win the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
While he’s not partaking in the official on-field activities during the combine, scouts who want to watch Sanders in action firsthand can do so at Colorado’s Pro Day, scheduled for March.
