Rutgers Transfer LB Mohamed Toure Stuns With New ACC Visit Schedule After Penn State, Miami Stops

After he visited Indiana, Miami, and Penn State, Mohamed Toure, the 236-pound linebacker, has scheduled a new ACC visit that might give his transfer saga an unforeseen twist. After entering the Spring Transfer Portal on April 25, Miami, Penn State, and Indiana were the three big contenders for the linebacker.

After an injury-riddled time with the Scarlet Knights, the linebacker finally decided to step into the transfer portal. Toure joined Rutgers in 2019. He missed the 2022 and 2024 campaigns because of ACL tears.

Mohamed Toure Eyes Big Move with ACC Visit After Major Stops at Penn State, Indiana, and Miami

It goes without saying that Toure was one of the best linebackers in the Big Ten when healthy. Perhaps that is why every move he makes after entering the transfer portal is being closely monitored, as the linebacker’s future remains uncertain.

The 6-foot-2-inch linebacker posted 51 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in 13 games in 2021.

After recovering from the physical and mental strain from the first ACL tear, Toure picked up his momentum in 2023 with 93 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, an interception, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble in 13 games.

Even with the injuries, Toure’s previous production and experience, with 37 games under his belt, have drawn attention from top programs like Penn State and Miami.

The linebacker has visited both during this process, along with Indiana. All of these teams are keen on shoring up their defenses for what they hope will be deep runs during the College Football Playoff. Mario Cristobal’s Hurricanes have emerged as a contender for Toure, according to reports.

Indiana’s head coach, Curt Cignetti, is also going “all out” to land Toure. But the linebacker’s recent moves suggest that the interest might be one-sided. The recent tweet from @TransferPortal_ points out a different turnout in this whole saga.

Fresh after making visits to check out the three programs, the linebacker had scheduled a visit to the ACC, eyeing a big move.

There is no doubt that whichever team he chooses will receive a major boost in their attempts to strengthen their defenses. The question remains as to which team will be. As things stand, we will have the announcement soon.
