Ricky Rahne’s Salary, Contract, Net Worth, and More

Ricky Rahne's first time as a head coach has gone well for Old Dominion, but what is his salary, contract, and net worth with the Monarchs?

Ricky Rahne took over an Old Dominion program that didn’t have a winning season since 2016 and quickly rebuilt it. The Monarchs have seen renewed success under their new head coach, and he’s already been rewarded for it.

After earning an extension in 2022, what is Rahne’s salary, contract, and net worth as the Old Dominion head coach?

Ricky Rahne’s Salary and Contract in 2024

Rahne was hired by Old Dominion in 2020 after serving as the offensive coordinator at Penn State from 2018 to 2019. He signed a five-year contract with the Monarchs that paid him a base salary of $750,000.

The contract also includes incentives and a signing bonus of $25,000. Details of the agreement were not available at the time of publishing, and most of his salary would be privately funded, according to Old Dominion athletic director Dr. Wood Selig.

When Rahne was an assistant at Kansas State, he was paid a salary of $120,000 in 2009 and $143,800 in 2010, according to USAToday.

He also served as quarterbacks coach at Vanderbilt from 2011-13 and multiple roles with Penn State from 2016-2019. No reported salaries could be found for those roles.

Rahne’s Net Worth

While we don’t know Rahne’s salary from his time at Penn State, it’s estimated to be in the six-figure range. The Nittany Lions recently signed offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki to a four-year deal worth $7.1 million.

While Rahne wasn’t making that much in 2019, we can estimate that his pay would have been slightly below what he currently makes as a head coach for the Monarchs.

Given that he was making six figures during his time as a tight ends coach with Kansas State, it’s likely that he received raises when he accepted jobs at both Vanderbilt and Penn State as a position coach.
