Lane Kiffin will have a high-pressure season ahead as he takes charge of LSU in the 2026 college football campaign, and it appears that off the field, the former Ole Miss head coach has been making some major changes, which are reflected in his outlook.
Kiffin used to be known for his high usage of social media, often tweeting and commenting. However, he has removed it from his life alongside some other changes, also reflecting on mortality in a huge way.
“I really started thinking, when I grew up there were two people I thought wouldn’t die – my dad and Hulk Hogan,” he told media personnel.
Lane Kiffin was clearly a Hulkamaniac growing up, supporting the former WWE star who tragically passed away last year in July. Hogan also appears to have left a deep impact on the LSU head coach.
Lane Kiffin is No Longer on Social Media
In his media address, Kiffin also confirmed he’s off social media, with an interesting story behind it. Kiffin said his son Knox challenged him to go off social media, and clearly he obliged.
“If you tell me I can’t do something, that’s really the way to get me to do it,” Kiffin said.
“So I just got off of everything, got off of (X/Twitter), don’t even have the apps. So I don’t even read it either. It wasn’t a plan for very long, I just wanted to show (Knox) I could do it. And it’s been really interesting.
For Kiffin, the focus will shift to football very soon as LSU has lofty aims under their new coach, with SEC domination at the highest priority. They start off their run against the Clemson Tigers on Sept. 5 at Baton Rouge with Kiffin leading the way.
