USA Wrestling Legend Jordan Burroughs’ Son Beacon Captures First State Title

Beacon Burroughs, the son of freestyle wrestling legend Jordan Burroughs, just gave the Burroughs family a step ahead in their lavish legacy after winning his first-ever New Jersey state title this weekend at 60 lbs in the junior division.

Beacon faced Dante Magno in the preceding round and grabbed the victory, thereby qualifying for the final. He faced PJ Woods in the final round and took him down, scoring a perfect takedown to take home the title. Beacon took the No. 1 spot at the podium, followed by Woods at No. 2 and Magno at No. 3.

Beacon Burroughs represents his dad’s ‘All I See Is Gold’ academy, located in Collingswood, New Jersey. Standing No. 1 at the podium, he was seen wearing the attire representing the institution. He was seen with the gold medal around his neck, as he held onto the 2026 USAW-NJ Championships Certificate.

This win has pushed forth the Burrough family’s wrestling legacy, which took wings through Jordan Burroughs’ decorated run from the mats of high school to the Olympic gold at the 2012 London Games.

Jordan Burroughs’ Early Words of Wisdom Highlight Beacon’s Rise in Motion

The father-son duo has made a name for themselves on the mat, and the wrestling realm has appreciated every bit of it. After Beacon’s “Tournament Warrior” feat last year, Jordan laid down objective lessons for his son, who has, through the recent victory, proven to have lived them.

Jordan, on his social media, highlighted Beacon’s first tournament loss at the Super 32 weekend in October 2025, which was followed by his five consecutive wins to grab a bronze medal.

Jordan elaborated on the importance of poise, determination, and humility. He also highlighted his parenting philosophy: not to go after major world titles but to remain grounded and focus on self-development, training, and taking one step at a time for long-term growth.
