674 athletes, including multiple elite ones like Kishane Thompson, Mondo Duplantis, Julien Alfred, and others, will compete at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships. The event is scheduled to be held at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena in Torun, Poland, from Friday, March 20, to Sunday, March 22.
Athletes from 118 federations will compete in 26 events. 12 gold medalists from last year will be seen defending their titles. Men and women athletes will compete in 13 events each.

Fans can watch the action unfold live at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships on Peacock. It will also be streamed on the World Athletics+ platform. The morning sessions on all three days will commence at 10:05 am. The evening session on Day 1 will start with the women’s shot put final at 18:10 GMT. The evening session on the next day will begin at 18:25 GMT with the men’s pole vault final. The tournament will conclude after the evening session on the last day, which will start at 18:05 GMT.
US Entries and Medal Hopes at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships
Multiple top-tier athletes, including Anna Hall, Nikki Hiltz, Cole Hocker, and Yared Nuguse, will compete at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships as medal contenders. The 2025 Tokyo World Championships gold medalist Anna Hall will vie in the pentathlon events.
Although Noah Lyles has withdrawn from competing in the 60m, Jordan Anthony and Trayvon Bromell will compete to earn a medal in the dash. The 1500m Paris Olympics gold medalist Cole Hocker will vie in the 3000m, alongside his fellow teammate and the bronze medalist Yared Nuguse. Nikki Hiltz will also compete in the 1500m with the potential of being a podium finisher.
