Omaha Supernovas Coach Luka Slabe recently opened up on hitter Reagan Cooper’s season debut. Supernovas have so far competed in four faceoffs in the 2026 season. They have registered two wins against the San Diego Mojo and Columbus Fury, and two defeats against the Atlanta Vibe and Orlando Valkyries.
However, Cooper is yet to make her appearance this season. When asked about her long-awaited season debut, Coach Slabe stated that although Cooper is working hard and honing her unique skills, she is still looking to improve handling hard-hit balls.
“Cooper’s working hard,” he said. “She’s very physical, and she hits certain angles that nobody hits. It’s been a while since I saw somebody that can do that. All of us can see how important serve receiving is in our game, and how important is our serving in our game, and how important is ball control. – being able to dig the ball at a very high level. When somebody hits the ball hard at you, you got to survive. And that’s where Cooper is still working on. That’s part of the game, where she needs to get better to be more competitive.”
He added that while Brooke Nuneviller, Sarah Parsons, and Norah TeBrake are acing the hitting on the competitive arena, Cooper is putting in extra work to perfect the skills.
“She’s showing up, putting in the work, staying for extra reps, and it’s just a matter of time when we were going to see her,” he said.
2026 is Coopers’ second professional season with Supernovas. During her first pro season with Columbus Fury, she was named the Rookie of the Year and All-League Second Team.
Omaha Supernovas’ Brooke Nuneviller Reveals The Team’s Goal For 2026 Season
Omaha Supernovas’ Brooke Nuneviller recently discussed the team’s goal, stating that they want to win the National Championships. In an interview with Hurrdat Sports, Nuneviller highlighted that although the team has fixed sights on the ultimate goal, they are focusing on gradual growth.
“I think we walked in day one, and Luca asked us what our goals were and naturally, the first thing that comes up is winning a national championship and winning the whole thing and a million-dollar match, all that. Then we got that out of the way, and he said, all right, perfect. That’s established. We don’t need to ever talk about that. I think like when that’s something that you talk about every single day like this, pressure just gets built up,” said Brooke Nuneviller.
“And I think every day we’re just coming in the gym, and we want to get a little better every day,” she added. “We want to work together, we want to stay positive. We want to play with so much gratitude and passion.”
The Omaha Supernovas will next face Columbus Fury on January 22, 2026, at the Chi Health Center.
