Former Nebraska Volleyball Player Lexi Rodriguez Reveals When She Fell In Love With The Sport

Former Nebraska Volleyball Player Lexi Rodriguez revealed the exact moment she fell in love with the sport. She opened up about wanting to make a career in volleyball during the first episode of  ‘SheSports the Podcast,’ hosted by her former teammate, Maisie Boesiger.

“I think when it started to like really feel special is when I switched clubs. So obviously, my sister was older than me, and she had gone to this like club that had better training. It was obviously farther away, but it was just like where we both thought we could go to get better. And I think once I got there and was exposed to this new level, I was like, ‘Wow, like this is what I want to do. This is what I want to play for the rest of my life. And like I want to do like big things.’ And I feel like that was around the age of like 10. Still pretty young, but I was just so in love with volleyball, and I wanted to do as much of it as I could.” (1:11 onwards)
Rodriguez joined the Huskers in 2021 and concluded her collegiate career after surpassing Justine Wong-Orantes as Nebraska Volleyball’s all-time leader in digs. The four-time All-American also represented the U18 and U21 U.S. National Team.
