Former Nebraska Volleyball player Lexi Rodriguez recently received support from Husker Sophomore Olivia Mauch during an LOVB faceoff. Rodriguez’s LOVB Nebraska locked horns with LOVB Houston on January 11, 2026, at the Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.
The LOVB Nebraska overpowered the LOVB Houston team 3-2 on Saturday during the season’s home opener. Along with the Nebraska fans, Rodriguez’s former teammate was also present to support her after concluding the 2025 season with the Huskers. While Mauch served as a freshman for the Big Red team, Rodriguez competed in her senior year (2024). Showing her support for the former teammate and her current team, Mauch wrote:
“Let’s go @lovbneb…..and @lexirodriguez.”

Olivia Mauch also competed in the beach volleyball faceoffs for the Huskers in her freshman year. Before joining the Cornhuskers team, she represented the U.S. Girls U19 Team, which won the gold medal at the 2023 FIVB U19 World Championships in Croatia.
She played in 36 matches in her freshman year, recording 1.61 digs per set with 21 service aces and 13 set assists. Mauch also posted a season-high of 10 digs. Her team ended the 2025 season after a loss to Texas A&M during the NCAA regional final in December.
Nebraska Volleyball Coach Dani Busboom Kelly Receives The Honor Of First Serve During LOVB Nebraska’s Home Opener Faceoff
Alongside Nebraska Volleyball’s sophomore Olivia Mauch, the team’s coach, Dani Busboom Kelly, was also present during the season’s home opener for LOVB Nebraska. However, instead of merely attending the clash, she was seen making the first serve. The LOVB Nebraska team shared a video of the memorable moment and wrote:
“Nebraska volleyball coach Dani Busboom Kelly with the first serve today!! ❤️💚”

Coach Busboom Kelly was named as the ambassador of the LOVB Nebraska team, which gives her the responsibility to engage in the team and community’s activities and also look after the growth and expansion of athletes and the volleyball ecosystem, respectively. Coach Busboom Kelly joined the Huskers team as head coach in January 2025, years after serving as an assistant coach. She also won the NCAA Championships title with the team in 2006.
