“Not Very Christian of You” – Former NCAA All-American Calls Out “Christ Is King” Wrestlers for Refusing Free Clinic Offer

The former NCAA wrestler, Dylan Palacio, called out the religious ‘Christ is King’ wrestlers for not helping out with the free clinic offer for kids who cannot afford wrestling practice. He took a dig at them, pointing out their faith in Christianity.

Palacio, a former NCAA wrestler at Cornell University, recently revealed his experience of getting rejected by multiple wrestlers from the NCAA Tournament when he asked for a free wrestling clinic for underprivileged kids. However, he revealed an offer he received from one of the ‘Christ is King’ wrestlers: a deal of helping the kids but with a pay of $5-10k.

Emphasizing the double standards of the wrestler, Palacio posted the screenshot of their conversation without revealing the wrestler’s name on X. It featured the offer of doing a day camp for the kids in 6500. Responding to this, Palacio penned a note that read:

“I want you to know that none of the “Christ is king” athletes from the NCAA tournament have accepted my offer to do a free wrestling clinic for underprivileged kids in their area. They did send back an offer to do 2 hours of instruction for 5-10k. Not very Christian of you man.”

Palacio last competed at the collegiate level during the 2016-17 wrestling season. He finished fourth and as an All-American in the 2016 NCAA Championships.

When Dylan Palacio Opened Up About Heading to 2017 NCAA SF

Dylan Palacio had a strong start to the 2017 NCAA wrestling championships, where he competed in the 157-pound division. He locked horns with Iowa’s second-seeded Michael Kemerer in the quarterfinal round, pinning his opponent in the second period and claiming the victory.

Following this win, he spoke to ESPN, exuding confidence in himself. Making his feelings known about progressing to the semifinals, he said:

“I just can’t be beaten. I have too much depth, too much pain in this tournament. Regardless of what happens tonight, I am going for it. This is life, I’m just living in it, be the character in your own movie, that’s all I’m trying to do. I promise I’ll be the people’s champion, and if I am the people’s champ, I’ll be everything that people can be.”

Palacio faced Missouri’s Joey Lavallee in the semifinal round of the 2017 NCAA Championships; though he lost by decision, 8-5.
