The 2026 year is turning to be pretty special for the Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. Almost two months after winning his first Super Bowl by beating the New England Patriots, the quarterback tied the knot with Katie Hoofnagle on Friday.
Several NFL stars attended the wedding. This includes Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife and Hollywood actress Hailee Steinfeld. A source told People that the couple set the dance stage on fire and were congratulated by many for recently having a baby girl.
“Hailee and Josh were so sweet on the dance floor, clearly having a blast,” a source told People. “People were politely congratulating them on their baby girl, and they were very kind.”
Allen and Darnold were actually part of the same draft class (2018). Darnold went third overall to the New York Jets and Allen was picked seventh overall by the Bills. Allen proved to be the better of the two with several individual accomplishments to show, but Darnold is actually the first one from the class to win a Super Bowl.
Apart from Allen and Steinfeld, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and wife Olivia Culpo, as well as Seahawks teammate Cooper Kupp and his wife Ann Marie, were also spotted at the wedding, according to People. 49ers’ Christian Kirk was reportedly also at the wedding.
Guests reportedly danced all night and also participated in crowd-surfing moments with the groom.
How Sam Darnold & Katie Hoofnagle Met
Sam Darnold and Katie reportedly met three years ago when the quarterback was playing for the Carolina Panthers and Hoofnagle was living in North Carolina. The couple went Instagram official on June 5, 2023, when Katie posted a birthday tribute calling him:
“your huge heart, goofy energy, and ability to quote every movie you’ve ever seen are unmatched. Happy 26th birthday, celebrating you is so easy!”
In July last year, the couple got engaged, with Katie posting on Instagram:
“from the best day ever🕊️ here’s to forever together.”
In the 2025 season, Katie became a frequent visitor to Seahawks games, supporting her man’s deep run in the NFL. She was there to support him when the Seahawks won the NFC championship in January.
