This year marked the end of the Chiefs’ era in football as Patrick Mahomes’ team got eliminated from the playoff race. But there’s always a chance of redemption, and the Tyreek Hill rumors are hinting toward that.
Hill, who previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2016 to 2021, is one of the best wide receivers in the league today. He knows the organization, their motive, understands their game, and, more importantly, has been hinting at a possible return.
The rumor market on this subject exploded when Mahomes went down with an ACL injury against the Chargers. After his injury, he was ruled out for the rest of the season, and the Chiefs were ruled out of playoff contention.
Hill didn’t say much when it happened. He simply posted a sad face emoji on his X account. That was all that the fans needed to get their hopes up about a possible reunion.
“You and Pat both coming back from major injury to another Chiefs run would be epic just saying,” one of the top comments on his post read.
While that particular fan was fairly direct in what they’re wishing for, another fan tried to dissect the meaning behind what they called a “bat signal.”
“Tyreek Hill sending the bat signal to Pat Mahomes after they both got into season ending injuries but if Twitter therapist would tell you.. that Tyreek needs to heal first.. literally before he is going to look for a QB to pair up with,” a fan wrote.
The speculations aren’t completely out of place. There is a possibility that Hill might go to Kansas again, especially considering how unhappy he’s been with the way the Dolphins operate. But for now, he’s nursing himself back to health from his own ACL injury.
Tyreek Hill’s Rehab is Going Good
In October, Hill made an appearance on Terron Armstead’s The Set on YouTube. During their conversation, he was asked about his recovery and how the rehab process was going.
Hill sounded confident in his process and revealed how he was approaching the situation. He said that he’s celebrating small milestones and victories in this tough stretch.
“Rehab going good, man. I’ve been attacking it every day,” Hill said. “I gotta enjoy the small victories and just take it one day at a time, man and just count the many blessings that god has blessed me with, man.” (From 33:35)
Hill said he understands it’s going to be a long journey, and he needs to be patient with the process. With the realization that things will happen on their own and he can’t force his way back to health, he’s taking small steps in the right direction.
