Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders helped a high school senior make an unforgettable memory during prom night.
Coach Prime’s son decided to lend his Mercedes, worth $200,000, to a Bedford high school kid named Marvin Thomas. On his Instagram, Sanders shared a photo of Thomas and his date flexing with the car while flaunting his green suit. A video edit of the couple also went viral, garnering over 500k views alone on X.
Fans on social media shared their reaction to the quarterback’s kind gesture and praised him for it.
“Cuh so real for this. When can I drive in December lemme use it for interlock bro,” one fan commented.
“So good for him! I love how hard he is trying to be a good role model for the city! Franchise QB to me!” another fan said.
“This is cool. Only 1 way to silence hater… WIN,” a fan wrote.
“And yet most of the media want to keep hating this kid its so sad,” another fan said.
“Shedeur seems like a really good rich kid,” one fan wrote.
“That’s love,” a fan commented.
Marvin Thomas’s mom, Aria Singletary, works as the celebrity assistant of NBA star LeBron James and his wife, Gloria. She shared a post on Instagram, thanking Shedeur Sanders for his heartwarming gesture on her son’s prom night.
“Special thank you to Shedeur for allowing our son and his beautiful date Lamaya to use your beautiful Maybach for prom night. Your generosity, kindness and support helped create an unforgettable experience and a memory he’ll cherish forever.”
The Browns drafted Shedeur Sanders with the 144th pick last year. He initially served as the third-string option before being named the backup to Dillon Gabriel following Joe Flacco’s trade to the Bengals. In Week 11, the former Colorado star was named the QB1 after Gabriel’s concussion and remained the starter for the rest of the season.
In eight games, he recorded 1,400 yards and seven TDs passing. The Browns finished dead last in the AFC North with a 5-12 record.
NFL analyst gets honest about Shedeur Sanders remaining as Browns QB1 in 2026
This upcoming season, the Browns will have veteran Deshaun Watson returning to the quarterback room following his injury. Apart from this, they also drafted Taylen Green in the sixth round of the draft, creating a four-way competition for the QB1 job.
While head coach Todd Monken has not finalized on a decision, analyst Jake Trotter believes that Deshaun Watson has the advantage over Shedeur Sanders and the others in this competition.
“The other part of it that I just don’t understand is, we’re hearing all this Deshaun Watson is going to start stuff, and whether you agree with it or not, it’s coming from somewhere,” Trotter said on ESPN Cleveland. “And I just don’t understand why you would go through the pomp and circumstance and the distraction of taking Shedeur, and yet, clearly, you don’t think he’s the guy.”
The Browns have not qualified for the playoffs since 2023, when they lost to the Texans in a wild-card showdown.
