Seattle Seahawks RB Depth Chart: Who Are Mike Macdonald’s Options As Zach Charbonnet Set To Miss NFC Championship Matchup?

With their NFC Championship Game at home against the Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks have run into some pretty significant problems. In particular, the team is dealing with a few of its key starters being injured as the team aims to head to the Super Bowl. Not only are they dealing with a limited Sam Darnold as he deals with an oblique injury, but Zach Charbonnet is also set to miss the game as he is also injured.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, not only is Sam Darnold hurt, but he will still play. Charbonnet will be out with a torn ACL, which means that his season is effectively over already. Cam Akers and George Holani will both play as running backs against the Rams on Sunday, while Kenneth Walker III will start the game.

“With Zach Charbonnet out due to a torn ACL, Kenneth Walker III now will become the Seahawks’ workhorse running back. Both Cam Akers and George Holani are expected to be used in backup roles, with some work expected for each player.” said Schefter.

Walker is listed as the RB1 ahead of the game, with Holani listed as the RB2 and Akers as the RB3. Velus Jones Jr. has also been activated and will be their RB4, or the emergency running back. As for Charbonnet, he has now been placed on the injured reserve, so he will be out even during the Super Bowl should the Seahawks win.
