    Patrick Mahomes Reacts With 6-Word Message After Russell Wilson Announces Retirement

    Russell Wilson officially announced his retirement on social media on Wednesday. The former Seahawks star received lots of support from other NFL stars, including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

    Wilson shared an emotional retirement video on Instagram, reflecting on his full journey from his rookie year to becoming a Super Bowl champion.

    “Thank You, Football,” he wrote.

    Mahomes was quick to pay tribute to the veteran star with a heartfelt six-word message.

    “Congrats on a helluva career, man!” he commented.

    “Thanks, 15. Love that we got to share the field together! Keep being an inspiration to the kids!” – Wilson replied in return.

    While both of the stars spent much of their careers competing against one another, there was always a mutual respect between them.

    Wilson was a Seahawks legend, whose contributions to the franchise cannot be ignored.

    His greatest achievement was during the 2013 season where he led the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl title win. He also became the franchise’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown passes.

    Wilson retires after spending 14 seasons in the league, last season he got 831 yards, with 3 touchdowns.

    After playing with the Steelers, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants, the veteran star is set to begin a new chapter in broadcasting. We will be joining CBS Sports’ NFL coverage team and appear on The NFL Today program.
