There are still a lot of questions for former Super Bowl champion quarterback Russell Wilson, as he may or may not be retiring ahead of next season. While he thinks about his next step, however, the former Seattle Seahawks superstar was with his wife, singer Ciara, in New York City, attending the annual fashion extravaganza, the Met Gala.
This allowed the veteran QB to relax and unwind as he decides his future in the league, and he and his wife came with a theme. This year’s Met Gala theme was “Costume Art,” and the couple clearly had an Egyptian theme in their outfits, with a very golden undertone. Wilson also gave his queen a kiss on her hand as they were on the red carpet, and this was something that caught the attention of many people.
Ciara came in a golden dress and a golden Egyptian headwear reminiscent of Queen Nefertiti. Meanwhile, Russell Wilson wore all-white with some ancient Egypt-inspired designs on his sleeves and shoulders. The two were one of the most talked-about couples during the event, and it was mainly because they looked stunning with what they wore, especially as they also rocked sunglasses coming into the event.
Wilson is often on hand with Ciara during these red carpet events. Should he retire, he could spend more time with her and attend even more of these events and make fans gush as he and his wife share sweet moments in public.
Russell Wilson Currently Thinking About Whether Or Not He Should Retire
After the Met Gala, Russell Wilson would now have to go back to the drawing board and think what he should do next. Reports indicate that he has several options on hand, including continuing his NFL career.
Another option would be retirement and shifting to become a broadcaster. He has reportedly been in “lengthy talks” with CBS to host their Sunday pregame show, “The NFL Today.” He would be the replacement for Matt Ryan who had left the show to become the president of the Atlanta Falcons.
Should he continue playing, he may be heading to the New York Jets, He reportedly visited the team and this mean he could be the backup quarterback for Geno Smith. This is a full circle moment, as Smith used to be his backup QB back in Seattle.
