“I Can Fight”: Rashee Rice’s Probation Violation Leads To Threat From Former Super Bowl Winning Star

Rashee Rice and Leonard Fournette both know what it’s like to be on a high-profile NFL team and the associated pressure to perform. However, Rice has found himself in the spotlight for all of the wrong reasons in recent years. While most criticism has come in the form of opinions, Fournette threatened violence.

In a statement on the 4th and South podcast via a Monday post on X from Starcade Media, Fournette reportedly said that he would punch Rice over his recent troubles with the law.

“I can fight, Mr. Rice. So if I got to punch on you to get your mind right, cause that seems like what he needs,” Fournette said.

Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail after violating the terms of his probation, which resulted from his role in a crash that injured multiple people in Dallas in 2024, per a Tuesday report from ESPN.

Rashee Rice Undergoes Surgery Before Prison Sentence

The Chiefs wide receiver won’t seemingly be doing much in jail, which sets up a chance to recover from a pre-jail surgery he underwent on his right knee. The surgery was set to remove “loose debris that was causing inflammation.”

The jail sentence also means he will be unable to attend OTAs and minicamp, with his release set to take place on June 16. The Chiefs’ practices wrap on June 11.

Rice’s absence will give the Chiefs a look at the team without him, and a chance for Andy Reid to decide whether the team will miss the receiver, should he not be brought back on another contract.

Either way, the legal troubles set the stage for a negotiation that could leave the leverage with Kansas City. 2026 is the last year of Rice’s contract with the Chiefs, according to Spotrac. Rice earned 571 yards and five receiving touchdowns in 2025.
