Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua took a playful shot at Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He compared the 2025 NFL sacks leader with two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is signed to a three-year, $175,369,698 contract.
Nacua playfully said that both superstars don’t like where they are currently, but despite that continues to star for the franchise.
“It’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t want to be here.’ And then, ‘Hey, look, I’m back, guys,’” Nacua said.
There’s some truth to what Nacua said.
Antetokounmpo is not happy with the Milwaukee Bucks after they released fellow star guard Damian Lillard. Ever since, he has ignited trade rumors. However, those rumors haven’t impaired his motivation to win games for the Bucks.
Similar is the case with Garrett, who requested the trade out of the Browns in February 2025. Despite the trade request, the Browns management denied, saying Garrett is central to the franchise’s future. As a result, the defensive end and the Browns agreed to a four-year, roughly $160 million extension with a no-trade clause. While he isn’t happy with the franchise’s competitiveness, Garrett registered a historic 2025 season, setting the NFL single-season sack record with 23 sacks and winning AP Defensive Player of the Year unanimously at the NFL Honors.
Both Puka Nacua and Myles Garrett Selected Unanimous All-Pros For 2025 Season
Puka Nacua and Myles Garrett both had terrific 2025 seasons, earning Unanimous All-Pros honors for the 2025 season.
The Rams receiver led the NFL with 129 receptions and came second with 1,715 yards. He caught 10 touchdowns and his yards per game were 107.2. He was the focal point of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford’s passes and the duo helped the team to the NFC Championship game, where they were defeated by Sam Darnold’s Seattle Seahawks.
Meanwhile, apart from recording an NFL high 23 sacks, Garrett led the NFL with 33 tackles for losses, recorded a career high 60 tackles, including 39 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles.
It remains to be seen if either Garrett or Antetokounmpo can drive their team into contention in the near future. While Garrett didn’t get traded, it remains to be seen if Antetokounmpo also stays with the Bucks.
