Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s reported wedding date has sparked debate online. As the couple is reportedly set to exchange vows at Madison Square Garden on July 3, which is just one day before Independence Day, one podcaster questioned whether the date was appropriate given the significance of the occasion.
In a video shared on social media, Ashley Brasfield questioned the timing of the ceremony, noting that the weekend is already packed with nationwide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of America’s independence, alongside the FIFA World Cup.
“What are we doing? You couldn’t find a better wedding date than America’s 250th anniversary?” Brasfield said.
She continued by pointing out the scale of the weekend’s events.
“There’s kind of a lot going on. So if these reports are even remotely accurate, Taylor Swift will be tying the knot at Madison Square Garden… on what might be one of the most loaded weekends on the American calendar to date.”
“Quite the choice. So let me just break it down for you. We’re talking 4th of July weekend with FIFA World Cup events unfolding across the country, in the Big Apple, New York City, and at one of the most iconic venues. So now to address the chatter that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are possibly turning MSG into a wedding venue. And Swifties, give me a second before this turns into a stadium-sized meltdown and I start getting death threats. I get it. You love her.” – she added.
