Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin recently announced that his famous yearly “White Party” will not be held on the July 4 weekend this year. Some journalists have floated the idea that this might be due to the rumors that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding might be held during the same holiday weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Speaking a couple of weeks ago with People, Rubin admitted that the rumored nuptials of the Grammy Award winner and the multiple-time Super Bowl champion were on his mind, but that this wasn’t the reason why they moved the date of his exclusive event.
“We were debating the dates. We were certainly aware of that date, but we didn’t change it because of that date,” Rubin said. “But we were aware of that date and we didn’t want to have people have to choose.”
The party will be held at a property of Michael Rubin in the Hamptons, this time on July 1 instead of Independence Day. The event has been held since 2021, with the date having always been July 4.
Rubin also explained that he doesn’t expect the change of date to affect the attendance of stars at his highly popular event.
Michael Rubin believes New York City will be filled with stars over the following weeks
Rubin also told People magazine that he’s certain the following weeks will see the biggest accumulation of celebrities ever in history due to the number of events happening in the Big Apple in July. He said:
“You’ve got the White Party, the best party in the world, followed by [Swift’s] wedding a few days later, followed by Fanatics Fest. Oh, and this little thing called the World Cup, which has the finale here in New York… You’ve got the ESPY Awards that moved to the night before Fanatics Fest.
“What’s going to make this year so special is it’s in the middle of the World Cup Final. You have the biggest stars in the world descending to Fanatics Fest… it’s just going to be absolutely spectacular.”
The final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place in nearby MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19. It is expected that the event will attract not just American celebrities, but also stars and political figures from across the world.
