Stefon Diggs and the New England Patriots are just one win away from securing their trip to the Super Bowl. Their Conference Championship game is scheduled this Sunday against the Denver Broncos at their home.
Diggs signed with the Patriots in March last year and has since brought a new identity to the wide receiver position. While his name has been marred in several controversies, no one can deny the impact he has made.
Diggs has also brought a very special and new Patriots fan with him, his girlfriend Cardi B. Cardi is new to the football world, but because she wants to support her boyfriend, she has started taking more interest in the sport.
The rapper often goes on social media to cheer for Diggs and the Patriots, and she has also been spotted at several games. During a recent media interaction, Diggs talked about what her support means to him and the journey they’ve been on together.
“I just appreciate the support,” Diggs SAID. “She’s been an amazing support to me and the Patriots. She wasn’t a football girl before I converted her over. But I’m just thankful to have her in my corner.”
Diggs said that Cardi is an “amazing woman,” and even though he doesn’t like to talk too much about his personal life, he acknowledged her support and interest in what he does. Diggs ended his answer on a very sweet note.
The Patriots’ wide receiver said that he hopes they continue to grow together in their relationship. “Hopefully we get to build on that and…watch that tree grow,” he concluded. Within a very short period, Diggs and Cardi have become one of the most popular celebrity couples in the league, and they welcomed a child together last year.
Stefon Diggs Defended Quarterback Drake Maye
The Patriots drafted Drake Maye out of North Carolina as their third pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Since then, Maye has had a meteoric rise and is now just one win away from taking his team to the Super Bowl.
Needless to say, the fans, coaches, and teammates are all proud of him. In his first two career playoff games, Maye has experienced the pressure of the postseason. That has led to some mistakes on his end, including six fumbles. But he has also executed game-winning plays to make up for those mistakes.
“Our quarterback continues to show up, especially in those moments where things can go left or right,” Diggs SAID. “He’s making the right reads. He’s making the right throws. He’s rolling with the punches.”
“I think none of his plays are really bad plays. It’s just part of football. I watch him, and his demeanor and his temperament throughout the game, it never changes. I think he’s consistent,” he added.
The wide receiver stated that once Maye finds his rhythm, he’s a “scary” quarterback for his opposition.
