The club of 99-rated players for Madden 27 has been announced, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has made the list.
The others are Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett, quarterback Matthew Stafford, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Yet not everyone agreed with the decision, as fans reacted negatively online to Josh Allen’s selection to the 99 Club.
“Josh Allen 99 😭 what a joke man the glaze be real smh,” wrote one fan
Some fans were just shocked at Josh Allen being on the elite list.
Not everyone agreed with the characterization and thought he was more than worthy of the selection.
A few fans were more neutral in their opinions.
Josh Allen is considering a broadcasting career after retirement
On Thursday last week, Josh Allen had an interview with CNBC in which he spoke about a potential broadcasting career after he’s done with his playing days:
“I do think it would be cool if you can keep it from a strictly broadcasting angle,” Allen recently told Alex Sherman of CNBC. “When players go from players to journalists and say certain things that they hated people saying about them, I think that’s where it gets a little murky for me
“But I do think that it would be something I would entertain. I can’t say for sure, ‘yes’ or for sure ‘no’ right now, because I do go back and forth on it. But yeah, I’d have to put some more thought into it.”
Yet Allen drew a line at analysis, as he wouldn’t like to turn into a full-blown journalist, as he would find it hard to criticize or investigate the lives and career decisions of his fellow players.
