Patriots HC Mike Vrabel Reveals Clear Drake Maye Injury Update Ahead Of Super Bowl LX

Is anyone even healthy at this point in the season? That’s the point that New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel made Tuesday when asked about an alleged injury to quarterback Drake Maye. Less than two weeks from Super Bowl LX, there’s a rumor that the signal-caller might be dealing with a right shoulder injury.

Appearing on the “Greg Hill Show” on Tuesday, Vrabel was asked about Maye’s injury status. He dismissed any concern but admitted that at this point of the year, it’s difficult to say that any player is 100% healthy:

“There’s not a player on our team that’s 100% healthy.

“I would imagine we’ll go through the injury report and whenever we have to turn that in, we’ll turn it in… This’ll be our 21st game.”

Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the Broncos at Denver in Mile High Stadium was particularly taxing for the Patriots, not only for the height differential, but because the city was taken over by a blizzard mid-game that made for some atrocious playing conditions in the second half of the encounter.

Drake Maye Second Youngest Quarterback Ever to Reach a Super Bowl

Much has been said of the fact that Drake Maye achieved what Tom Brady couldn’t, by winning an AFC Championship in Denver. However, there’s an even more important record that the quarterback broke over the weekend. He’s the second youngest signal-caller to reach a Super Bowl, second only to Dan Marino.

However, Drake Maye understands this is a team-wide achievement, not a personal accolade:

“I’m just proud of this team,” said the 23-year-old Maye shortly after winning the AFC Championship. “Don’t have many words. Just thankful for this team. Love each and every one of them. It took everybody.”

Maye will want to improve upon Dan Marino’s achievement by winning Super Bowl LX. The legendary Miami Dolphins player reached the Super Bowl only once in his career, losing Super Bowl XIX to the San Francisco 49ers of Joe Montana.

The Patriots face an uphill battle this Super Bowl LX, opening up as 4.5-point underdogs to the Seattle Seahawks, according to DraftKings.
