MetLife Stadium is infamous for its artificial turf, which has caused a variety of problems for NFL stars throughout the years. Malik Nabers was the most recent victim of the “turf monster,” suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee, and the list also includes Nick Bosa, Aaron Rodgers, and more.
Newly appointed Giants head coach John Harbaugh was asked about the turf being replaced by grass for the upcoming FIFA World Cup games, to which he replied:
“You’re going to try to draw me into the turf vs. grass, then Roger’s going to call me up and he’s going to get mad at me because I’m probably not going to say what he wants me to say. That’s all I’m going to say. It’s a good surface out there, it’s a good artificial surface.” (@SNYGiants)
Cam Skattebo Returns To Giants Practice
Among a long list of injuries the Giants endured last season was rookie running back Cam Skattebo. The former Arizona State star suffered an ankle dislocation during a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. This injury led to emergency surgery on the same night.
However, Skattebo was in good spirits when asked about his injury during the team’s Annual Town Hall event in May. He replied:
“I’m a little ways out. Not too far, but I’ll be ready to go. Week 1, I’ll be ready to go.”
