Of all the coaches in the NFL, Kevin Stefanski was one of those who fans have been asking to get fired the most. They finally got their wish fulfilled as the Cleveland Browns have now fired him after a disastrous season, which included accusations of bias against rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders and purposefully sabotaging his games, as well as overall bad decisions during many games.
Just minutes after his firing, fans have taken to social media to post memes and poke fun at the coach’s firing:
The Browns finished 5-12 with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but that last game win was not enough to save Stefanski’s job.
Shedeur Sanders Defended Kevin Stefanski Amid Sabotage Rumors
One of the reasons many fans despised Kevin Stefanski was his treatment of Shedeur Sanders, with him taking the rookie QB out during that loss against the Tennessee Titans after a great performance, only to run a bad play and lose the game. Sanders was asked about these alleged sabotage attempts, but instead shut that reporter down, asking if that reporter wanted to “cause trouble.”
Instead, the reporter rephrased his question, and Sanders defended Stefanski instead.
“Coach Stefanski been coaching since I got here, and he’s been doing a very great job, you know, with everything that’s going on,” Shedeur said.
As for his fans claiming that the coach had been sabotaging him, Sanders noted that what people do outside of the team is out of his control, but he admitted that he can still change things, adding that their relationship had “grown.”
