After concluding their 2025 NFL campaign with a 5-12 record, the 2026 season will see the Cleveland Browns take the field against the Chicago Bears in their first preseason game next month.
One of the biggest talking points for Browns heading into the preseason is its starting quarterback spot. While analysts and fans are torn between signal-callers Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson for the role, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy appears to have already revealed his preferred choice.
During a TikTok live session with his followers on Sunday, Jeudy was asked in the comments who he would choose between Sanders and Watson. Responding to the question, the wideout seemingly gestured a four with his fingers, which is Deshaun Watson’s jersey number.
As the clip started gaining more and more traction, Jerry Jeudy issued a clarification on his X account, accusing social media users of cutting the clip out of context.
“😭 yall cut the clip perfectly for that narrative. Y’all can never get in between this shxt lol,” Jeudy wrote on X.
While it remains to be seen who among Sanders and Watson gets the nod for the starting job, it’s safe to say it won’t be an easy call for Browns coach Todd Monken.
ESPN Projects Deshaun Watson As Browns’ QB1 Ahead Of Shedeur Sanders
While the Cleveland Browns haven’t announced their depth chart ahead of the 2026 season, ESPN has listed Deshaun Watson as the Browns’ No. 1 quarterback, followed by Shedeur Sanders. Dillon Gabriel and Taylen Green occupy the third and fourth spots, respectively.
Last season, veteran Joe Flacco started the season as the Browns’ No. 1 signal-caller before getting traded to the Cincinnati Bengals in October.
After Flacco’s departure, Dillon Gabriel was given the opportunity to start before Sanders assumed that role toward the tail end of the season. An Achilles tendon surgery kept Deshaun Watson out of contention for the entirety of last season.
