The Indianapolis Colts have a challenging season ahead. After the offseason witnessed roster tweaks, the Colts are set to face playoff contenders, difficult road environments, and a few favorable matchups.
The Colts will play the AFC North and NFC East while also navigating their usual divisional battles in the AFC South.
Colts HC Shane Steichen’s Toughest Games in 2026
1. @Kansas City (Week 2)
It’s never easy to play Patrick Mahomes in their own backyard, especially after they failed to make the playoffs, making them even hungrier to start the new season on a positive note at Arrowhead Stadium.
At that point, the Colts won’t have any room to make adjustments. The Colts’ running game will need to be at the top, while also their defense needs to make sure Mahomes doesn’t build momentum with successful passes early on.
2. @Philadelphia Eagles (Week 14)
Just one year ago, the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl. While there is an uncertainty regarding Davante Adams, with many expecting him to be traded, the other parts of the roster are still elite.
Moreover, Colts head coach Steichen was previously the offensive coordinator for the Eagles. Facing the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field this late in the season could mean playoff implications and a high-intensity game.
3. vs. Baltimore Ravens (Week 1)
4. @Houston Texans (Week 11)
5. @Pittsburgh Steelers (Week 5)
Colts HC Shane Steichen’s Easiest Games in 2026
1. vs. New York Giants (Week 12)
Home games after Week 10 are always crucial. Since the Giants are in the middle of a transition, they are not expected to be a difficult opponent for anyone, especially to Indianapolis at home.
If the Colts find themselves in playoff contention, they should win against the Giants comfortably.
2. vs Tennessee Titans (Week 15)
Like the Giants, even the Titans are trying to find out what works for them. As such, the Lucas Oil Stadium gives Indianapolis a favorable setting in a late-season matchup they should expect to dominate.
3. vs Jacksonville Jaguars (Week 8)
4. @Cleveland Browns (Week 17)
5. vs. Miami Dolphins (Week 10)
