George Kittle has broken an important record to ensure his place in the history of the San Francisco 49ers. With 593 career receptions, the tight end has passed Terrell Owens for the second most in franchise history.
Of course, the top spot is still held by Jerry Rice, arguably the best player in the team’s history. The record is also very safe in his hands, with Rice having recorded 1281 receptions in his career with the 49ers.
Regardless, someone celebrating Kittle’s achievement with pride is his wife. Claire Kittle reposted the news to her Instagram account, adding the following caption to it:
“Here’s a highlight to the evening.”
Kittle has recorded 8008 receiving yards, with 52 touchdowns. For comparison, Jerry Rice has 19247 receiving yards, with 176 touchdowns. Kittle also has slightly fewer yards than Owens (8008 vs. 8572 yards), but has been targeted much less than Owens was (802 vs. 971 targets).

Is George Kittle Healthy For The Postseason With The San Francisco 49ers?
George Kittle has missed some games this season due to injury. He suffered a hamstring strain in the season opener and missed Weeks 2 and 5. He was then sidelined for Weeks 6-14, except Week 7. He also missed last week’s game.
There were rumors he could miss Saturday’s game, but in the end, he played against the Seattle Seahawks, a game the 49ers lost 13-3. He recorded five receptions for 29 yards. So he should be able to play when San Francisco plays in the Wild Card Round.
However, it’s pretty clear this is Kittle’s least productive season since his rookie season in 2017. He had only 628 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
