The Met Gala is often referred to as “fashion’s biggest night”. Celebrities from all walks of life attend the annual fundraising gala, which is held in order to support the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
This year’s Met Gala was held on Monday, as is the tradition to hold it on the first Monday of every year. The theme for the event this year is “Costume Art.” A few NFL players were also in attendance while adhering to the dress code, “Fashion is Art.”
What did the NFL stars wear at the 2026 Met Gala?
Russell Wilson and Ciara
Super Bowl XLVIII champion Russell Wilson pulled up to this year’s Met Gala with his wife Ciara. The couple went all out in their outfit choice for the event, leaving fans in awe of their fashion sense.
Wilson flaunted an all-white designer outfit. He completed his look with a pair of sunglasses. On the other hand, Ciara wore a heavily embroidered dress to color code with her husband. She accompanied it with a makeshift crown on her head.
Joe Burrow
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was in attendance for his second consecutive Met Gala on Monday. Unlike Russell Wilson, the three-time Pro Bowler went with a more minimalistic outfit approach.
Burrow wore a dark-blue suit for the event. It was designed with some black embroidery on the front. The quarterback paired it with black shoes to complete his look.
Burrow is coming off an underwhelming 2025 campaign with the Cincinnati Bengals. Because of a turf toe injury, he was limited to just eight games. He recorded 1,809 yards and 17 TDs passing. The Bengals finished with a 6-11 record, missing the playoffs for the third-straight year.
Justin Jefferson
Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson attended this year’s Met Gala. The wide receiver flaunted a formal outfit choice while pairing it with a black overcoat.
Just like Joe Burrow, Jefferson kept things minimal with a sleek look. The two NFL stars also posed together for a few photos on the red carpet.
Jefferson just finished his sixth year with the Vikings. He recorded 1,048 yards on 84 receptions and two touchdowns while the team finished third in the NFC North with a 9-8 record.
