The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting for a confirmation on whether Aaron Rodgers re-sign with the team. As Rodgers makes a decision, the Steelers decided to protect and prepare themselves the best they can and placed the UFA tender on him before the post draft deadline, which is on July 22.
Talking about the move by the Steelers, Colin Cowherd said that the franchise took the ball in their court. Cowherd reminded Rodgers that he has to be either in or out.
Fans had mixed reactions to the take.
“This dudes a retard…. He thinks he’s like punny and cute. Aaron go retire… Steelers move on,” one fan reacted.
“All Aaron Rodgers has done is mind his business and stay quiet and folks like yourself and so many others in sports media will desperately miss him when he’s really gone. You can’t keep his name out of your mouth,” another fan wrote.
“The Steelers are totally kissing Rodger’s a** and for what, a 44yo QB who ain’t Tom Brady. He’s setting the Steelers back another year at least. If this were the Browns you would be laughing your ass off Colin. Go Browns!!”. another fan pointed out.
“U really can’t read a room. Coachella is the last place Roger’s would be. Do u even have a f*cking brain? If so. TRY to use it,” another fan said.
“Steelers just need to walk away and start the future now,” another fan added.
”Basically, other teams were interested in him? The Steelers are a mess and not a contender—he deserves to finish with a contender. You still hate him because he was right about your vaccine,” another fan said.
Mike Tomlin Predicts if Aaron Rodgers Would Make a Steelers Comeback
Mike Tomlin, who announced his decision to walk away after being with the franchise for 19 years, shared his thoughts on whether he believes four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers would come back to play for another year.
Tomlin said Sunday evening that he if there was a gun to his head, he’d say he thinks Rodgers has a love affair with the game of football and even the processes that comes with it, including the informal moments, development of younger guys and interactions with the teammates.
“And so, I think, at the end of the day, he’ll play football,” Tomlin said.
The ex-Steelers head coach added that he thinks Rodgers has an addiction to the game and the process that comes with it and called him a capable player.
