Emmett Johnson Draft Projection: Where Could Nebraska Running Back Land?

Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson was one of the reasons for the team’s early success last season, and he could find himself being picked on the third day of the NFL draft.

He is considered to be a Day 3 prospect, but where could he land? There are still a lot of teams that are in need of a good running back.

ESPN projected him as the No. 101 pick, which should go to the Buffalo Bills after a trade with the Tennessee Titans. This means that he could be the very first pick of the day on Saturday.

Should he go to the Bills, he could serve as backup for Pro Bowler James Cook, though he would have to fight for RB2 or RB3 against Ray Davis and Ty Johnson. He could slot in as their emergency running back, given that the position is very injury-prone.

Still, he could slide a bit lower, possibly landing around the top 10 in Round 4, which is from the 101st to the 110th picks in the draft. He could end up with the Kansas City Chiefs, who have been overhauling their roster, at No. 109, or the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that needs an offensive force at running back, at No. 110.

Emmett Johnson Considered the Best Running Back Still Available Right Now

Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price were considered the best running backs in the draft, and with both of them picked in the first round, the best player in that position right now is Emmett Johnson.

Johnson had 1,451 rushing yards on 251 carries and 12 touchdowns last year. His receiving numbers were not bad either, with 370 receiving yards on 46 receptions and three touchdowns for the Cornhuskers.

He is very fast and athletic, which means he should be snapped up sooner rather than later.
