“Don’t Care What He’s Never Won”: $15,000,000 Worth Former NFL WR Defends Neymar Jr. After Brazilian Star Announces Retirement

Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson put Neymar Jr. on a high pedestal after the Brazilian soccer star announced his retirement following his country’s shock 2-1 defeat to Norway in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

Neymar retires as one of the greatest players in Brazil’s history. He is Brazil’s all-time leading scorer with 80 goals, played in four FIFA World Cups (2014, 2018, 2022, 2026), and won the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and Olympic gold at Rio 2016.

On his “Nightcap” show, Johnson, who is worth $15 million (via Celebrity Net Worth), claimed Neymar is the third-greatest Brazilian soccer player of all time. This put him at odds with another soccer fan, who discarded the claim since Neymar has never won a World Cup or Ballon d’Or.

“Listening to @NightcapShow_ talk football is so cringe bro 😂. @ochocinco wanna put Neymar 3rd all time Brazilian ever and the man never won a WC or a B’Dor. We have Ronaldinho, Kaka, R.Carlos, Ronaldo, Cafu, all the greats 😂 man yall gotta chill @ShannonSharpe,” the fan wrote.

Johnson replied to the fan to explain his basis behind putting Neymar among the best footballers in Brazil’s history.

“I don’t care what he’s never won he’s still better than Kaka, Cafu & Roberto Carlos individually. You’re cringe & don’t know ball using team accomplishments to say players that can’t even lace Neymars boots are better cause of what they won as a TEAM. 😂,” the former NFL star wrote.

Former NFL Star Left Heartbroken After Watching Neymar Jr. Get Emotional

Playing in his fourth FIFA World Cup, Neymar Jr. has tried long and hard to deliver Brazil a FIFA World Cup. But when Norway knocked out Brazil, thanks to a late brace from Erling Haaland, the soccer star was overwhelmed with emotions.

The television cameras captured him in tears at the final whistle, as only he knew at the time that his career playing for Brazil had come to an end. Neymar dropped to his knees as teammates gathered around him to console him.

A video of the same was shared by Fox Sports, and Chad Johnson had a heartbroken reply to it:

    “💔”

In the game, Neymar had scored a stoppage-time penalty, his final goal for Brazil. After the match, his exact words were made in despair:

“I tried, I tried. Now it’s over. I started here, I closed it here.”

Neymar played his last game at MetLife Stadium, the same venue where he made his senior Brazil debut in 2010. With 80 goals in 130 appearances, his international career has come to an end.
