Did Trevor Lawrence Make the Pro Bowl This Year? Selection Status Revealed

No, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was not selected to the 2026 Pro Bowl roster. Lawrence was not among the initial official Pro Bowl selections. On his Jaguars, only one player was selected and that was long snapper Ross Matiscik.

However, Lawrence was listed as one of the alternates, along with Travis Etienne Jr., Devin Lloyd, and Parker Washington.

Why Trevor Lawrence Didn’t Appear on the Final Roster?

In the first QBs list of the AFC for the Pro Bowl included Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.

However, since Maye will be participating in Super Bowl LX against the Seattle Seahawks, he won’t feature in the Pro Bowl. He was replaced by Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who will be an alternate for the Pro Bowl. Before that, Lawrence was discussed as a replacement option, but there was no proper reason provided why he was snubbed.

John Shipley of SI.com believes the only logical explanation behind Lawrence’s absence could be that the Jaguars quarterback declined the opportunity. Any other reason doesn’t make sense because Lawrence’s production is of MVP level, whereas Sanders didn’t start until the season was already done for the Browns.

In eight appearances and seven starts, Sanders completed 57% passes for 1,400 yards with seven touchdowns to 10 interceptions. On the other hand, Lawrence completed 60.9% passes for 4,007 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 23 touchdowns while running 1,442 yards on 313 carries.

A case can also be made that Lawrence deserved to be named over Herbert in the initial selections.

Trevor Lawrence Named 2025 NFL MVP Finalist

For those wondering, Trevor Lawrence was unfairly snubbed in Pro Bowl selections. The Jaguars quarterback was nominated for a far bigger individual accomplishment.

After leading the Jaguars to a 13-4 season, Lawrence’s Jaguars were defeated by the Buffalo Bills 27-24 in the wild-card round.

Following an incredible season, Lawrence was named one of five finalists for the Associated Press 2025 NFL Most Valuable Player award, alongside other stars such as Josh Allen, Drake Maye, Christian McCaffrey and Matthew Stafford. Apart from running back McCaffrey, all other stars mentioned are quarterbacks.

Being named an MVP finalist means Lawrence was one of the top five vote-getters in the Associated Press MVP balloting for the regular season. The winner of the same will be announced at the NFL Honors ceremony on February 5, 2026.
