Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel have been facing the wrath of many analysts and fans after they were spotted together at a luxurious hotel in Arizona a few weeks ago. The two were seen hugging, holding hands and spending time together in a hot tub. Both Russini and Vrabel are married and have two sons each.
While Russini eventually resigned from her job at The Athletic, the NFL decided not to review Vrabel’s conduct.
During a recent press conference, Vrabel expressed his gratitude for the patience of the media and fans and shared that he has had tough conversations with the coaches, the players, and the organization, and that he plans to make better decisions going forward.
However, analyst Jared Stillman was not a fan of Vrabel’s comments.
“Vrabel absolutely hung Diana out to dry today, but I’m not sure he had a choice. By Mike Vrabel getting up there and essentially admitting that what we had all been led to believe was an improper relationship probably was, he’s basically admitting A. he lied when he gave his statement to the Post B. she lied when she gave her statement to the Post and C. she lied again last week but by soft confirming which is what I’m going to call what Vrabel said today, by soft confirming that I think Diana’s career is officially over.”
Dave Portnoy Applauds Mike Vrabel’s Comments Amid Dianna Russini Scandal
Dave Portnoy is among the biggest fans of Mike Vrabel and the Patriots; however, he did discuss the scandal and said he believes there was more than just friendship between the two.
After Vrabel’s press conference on Tuesday, Portnoy also applauded the Patriots head coach’s way of taking accountability.
”LEADER OF MEN. Let he who has not made a mistake or bad decision cast the 1st stone! We You can’t spell Vrabel without accountability! Proud to be a Patriot! An organization that does things the right way!” Portnoy wrote.
The analyst earlier called the whole situation a very sad one for both families. He pointed to Vrabel and Russini’s claim that more people were present at the resort and questioned why this alleged group of friends had not stepped forward to clear the matter.
