In one of the biggest surprises of the season, Shedeur Sanders went from the emergency third-string quarterback to starter to becoming a Pro Bowler in his rookie year. While this raised a lot of eyebrows of people who believed that the rookie did not deserve his spot, his dad, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has been busy defending his son. As for his mom, Pilar Sanders, she actually showed up in San Francisco for the Pro Bowl.
Pilar, a fitness guru and ex-wife of Deion Sanders, was in the sidelines and she posted a video of herself enjoying the atmosphere as her son played his very first Pro Bowl game.
The legendary fitness guru was there from the day Shedeur Sanders played his first pro game of the 2025 pre-season, and she was also there the day her youngest son played his first pro bowl game. Originally, the Browns have him as a third string QB, only being activated whenever Joe Flacco or Dillon Gabriel got injured. But after trading Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel got injured, it was Shedeur Sanders who stepped up.
The rookie was not originally in the list of alternatives for the Pro Bowl, but as Patriots QB Drake Maye was about to miss the game because he was playing in Super Bowl LX instead, the AFC needed a replacement. The league did not reveal how it ended up to be Sanders. but it was him who made the final list in the end, even getting to play a few minutes with some of the NFL’s best players.
How Did Shedeur Sanders Do In The Pro Bowl?
Shedeur Sanders and the AFC lost to the NFC in a wild comeback. Individually, however, the Cleveland Browns QB actually played well outside of two interceptions. The NFC won 66-52.
He threw two touchdown passes, including one to Texans wide receiver Nico Collins and another to Broncos offensive tackle Garrett Bolles, showing that he could work with anyone. He also had a two-point conversion pass to Bengals WR Tee Higgins, adding to the AFC lead before the NFC did that furious comeback.
