Patriots HC Mike Vrabel and journalist Dianna Russini recently made the headlines after pictures of them hanging out at a luxurious hotel in Arizona went viral as the two spent their day together chilling by the pool and enjoying some time in the hot tub.
Vrabel and Russini were seen hugging and holding hands in some of the pictures which sparked frenzy among many fans and analysts as they are married to different people and have two kids each.
Dave Portnoy, who is a big Mike Vrabel and the Patriots fan, shared his thoughts on the situation and called it a very sad story as he believes something more than a friendship is brewing between the two.
Portnoy also weighed in on how while the two said they were hanging out with a group of six people, none of them stepped up to support or show proof of their presence, which fuels the cheating rumors.
“Private investigator was definitely involved. You just don’t get these photos randomly from far away, professional,” he pointed out.
“So somebody was out to get these two, whether that was Vrabel’s side, whether it was Russini’s side. But this looks like somebody knew something nefarious was happening and set out to get it, get the proof, get the information. So that’s one,” he further said.
“I think it’s pretty obvious that maybe something beyond a friendship was happening here. Now, there’s two different sides to it. Vrabel, and they’re both married with kids. So it’s in that respect, very sad story. Like, if he’s cheating, not cheating, this doesn’t affect your job. This has nothing to with your job as football coach. where it gets a little dicey depending how you look at with Russini is as she works for the athletic which is the New York Times,” he added.
Analyst Labels Mike Vrabel a “Coward” Amid Dianna Russini Controversy
While Mike Vrabel released a statement shortly after his pictures with Dianna Russini went viral and brushed off the entire incident as “laughable,” he chose to skip the press conference he was supposed to have on Monday at 2:00.
Craig Carton spoke about the situation and called out Vrabel for cancelling the press conference today while calling him a “coward.”
The analyst questioned Vrabel saying that if the situation is laughable, why didn’t he show up to answer the questions.
“If you want to be a tough guy, then be a tough guy. I agree. But by not showing up, all you’re doing is admitting to us that it was untoward, that there was something going on between you two. Well, it’s funny that a guy that’s got a reputation of being a tough guy and intimidating and walk into rooms and kind of taking that room over from like a bully standpoint, doesn’t have the backbone to show up for a press conference today, right?,” Carton said.
Carton further said Vrabel is just a bully and likes to intimidate people with his size.
