“Dumbest Citation”: Cop in Zachariah Branch Arrest Accused by Analyst of Ego Move as Georgia Star Receives Warning

Zachariah Branch’s arrest is making waves across the NFL world. The nature of the arrest, in particular, is indicative of how things can go south when dealing with law enforcement.

Chiming in about the unfortunate turn of events, former NFL Linebacker, Emmanuel Acho didn’t held back in his criticism of the officer responsible for making the arrest, straight up calling it an ego move after the news came out.

“There are arrests that occur for breaking the law and there are arrests that occur for hurting the cop’s ego,” Acho said on his show “Speakeasy”.

“And this was an arrest that occurred because a cop got his fragile ego hurt, simple as that. Understand if y’all are not up to date – ‘I gave Zachariah Branch a verbal command’ the officer said. To move from blocking the sidewalk. Zachariah Branch smirked and stepped backwards towards the right and he ultimately got charged for a misdemeanor.”

    Acho added:

“This was hurting a police officer’s ego and that is why Zachariah Branch got arrested. This is the most nonsensical, dumb, egotistical citation I have ever seen and this is why we often say – power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

“This was a corrupt officer from everything we’ve read from the cop’s writing and even Zachariah Branch’s testimony. This was a power trip officer on a power trip.”

Branch Receives Warning Not to Throw It All Away

Despite criticizing the officer, however, Acho made it clear that Branch did not need to be playing with fire so close to the NFL Draft.

Branch’s stock is high enough to be picked up early, and this could potentially play a role in things taking a turn for the worse.

“You’re about to become an even bigger multi-millionaire,” Acho said, directing his statement to Branch.

“Why you out at 3 o’clock in the morning three days before the draft? Just go get your paper. Don’t even play with cops bro. The history in this country says don’t even play with cops. Don’t even play with their oftentimes fragile egos.”

While reports suggest teams won’t be too bothered by the legal mishap, only Draft day will tell us for sure if Branch faces the tough consequences of missing out on a team because of what happened in Athens, Georgia.
