Bucky Irving Injury: Fan Claims Tampa Bay Star Hints At Potential Return Date Following Month-Long Absence

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving might have provided his return timeline. Irving last played in the Week 4 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, in which he suffered an ankle sprain and a shoulder subluxation (partial dislocation). He has been out since then.

As we enter Week 10, a positive hint has come along. A social media user named @BucsCapital replied to a USA TODAY’s Ashlie’s comment saying about missing Irving. @BucsCapital replied that he hit him up on DM the other day and said Irving will be ready to go in this week’s game against the New England Patriots. When asked for proof, the user shared the screenshot, where Bucky wrote:

    “Im Ready.”

Bucky Irving has been out several consecutive games due to the injuries and has not practiced recently. The Bucs list him “day-to-day” and no return date has yet been specified. In his absence, the Buccaneers have relied on backup running backs to cover the load.

    What Happened To Bucky Irving?

Late in the game against the Eagles, Bucky Irving was hit in a tackle that had him rolling. He went out of the game but returned again. In the post game interview, head coach Todd Bowles confirmed that Irving was one of several players being evaluated after the team’s loss to the Eagles.

The two injuries sustained during the game against the Eagles continue to sideline Irving since Week 4. The ankle sprain healed in two weeks but it’s the shoulder injury that has proven to be a hindrance to his return.

On Oct. 22, while ruling out Irving for the game against the New Orleans Saints, Bowles said:

“If they’re healthy enough to play, we’re gonna play them, but if there’s any doubt, we’re not gonna play them at all,” Bowles said. “They gotta be ready to play, and we gotta see that they can play before we put them out on the field, but with the bye week coming, if a guy’s very iffy, we’d probably be more inclined to not play if he’s not ready to play.”

It remains to be seen if the latest development on social media DMs is just a joke or if Irving is really ready to suit up for the game.
