Madden 27 might be the last game printed on physical media, which means for some gamers, this will be the final 99 Club they experience. As such, EA had plenty of pressure to get it right. After nearly a year of finalizing the list, the company announced the best players in this year’s edition.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport on Monday, six players received the coveted rating: Myles Garrett, Josh Allen, Trey McBride, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Matthew Stafford and Ja’Marr Chase.
While no one can shake a stick at any of the players included, the company didn’t include several notable names in the exclusive 99 Club.
5 Biggest Snubs From Madden 27’s 99 Club
#5 – Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott was the face of productive quarterbacks, sans Matthew Stafford. Prescott led the top offense in the NFL in 2025 and pushed the ball downfield at will. Prescott finished third in passing yards, fourth in touchdown passes and fifth in QBR (ESPN). That, plus his popularity, which has historically been an unofficial metric used in assigning 99 ratings in Madden’s past, makes his omission notable in this year’s game.
#4 – Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions
Amon-Ra St. Brown has been a cheat code for the Detroit Lions in his career. St. Brown finished tied for second in touchdown receptions and fifth in receiving yards. He also has crossed the 1,400-yard mark twice in the last three years and has had double-digit touchdowns every year since 2023.
#3 – Puka Nacua, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Puka Nacua’s troublesome offseason aside, the Rams receiver is still one of the biggest forces in the NFL at the wide receiver position. Nacua finished less than 80 yards behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and tied him in touchdown receptions. His yardage total last season outpaced 99 Club member Ja’Marr Chase by more than 300 yards.
#2 – James Cook III, RB, Buffalo Bills
James Cook III led the NFL in rushing yards in 2025, but apparently EA needed to see more from the running back to get across the final line. The running back also finished in the top four for yards per carry. Despite struggles across the offensive roster in 2025, Cook managed to effectively carry the unit on his back and be as reliable as it gets.
#1 – Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Derrick Henry is getting up there in terms of age, but if Travis Kelce can earn a 99 overall rating in his 30s, so can Henry. The running back finished second in rushing yards in 2025 and has been a force for his entire career with five years of at least 1,500 yards and even a 2,000-yard season under his belt.
