There’s been a rumor for a while that former ESPN reporters Britt McHenry and Dianna Russini had gotten into a physical fight over then-Washington Redskins coach Sean McVay. According to the rumor, the women found out that McVay was dating both of them.
The alleged incident occurred during a preseason training camp. Both women were allegedly under the influence of alcohol and got into a fist fight outside a chain restaurant.
However, investigative reporter and documentary producer A.J. Perez said the scene never happened. He tweeted:
“This alleged incident between Britt McHenry and Dianna Russini during Commanders training camp more than a decade ago has veered into bad fan fiction. The “fight” some suggested didn’t happen. McVay was at this establishment, but so were other coaches/execs and several reporters.”
Dianna Russini’s Photos With New England Patriots Coach Mike Vrabel Surface
Page Six recently published a series of pictures of Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel spending time together poolside in a hotel in Sedona, Arizona.
They have denied that there’s any romantic context to the pictures, and Athletic Executive Editor Steven Ginsberg released a statement on the matter defending Russini.
“These were public interactions in front of many people,” Ginsberg said. “Dianna is a premier journalist covering the NFL and we’re proud to have her at The Athletic.”
Russini herself denied any impropriety through a statement of her own:
“The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day,” she said
Vrabel seemed to dismiss the importance the publication placed on the pictures and their meaning.
“These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable,” he said. “This doesn’t deserve any further response.”
Vrabel is married to Ohio State college sweetheart Jennifer Vrabel, with whom he has two sons.
