Fans have called for the removal of a former American pro football executive from his current standing in the NFL’s Hall of Fame. On Tuesday, Jan. 27, @MLFootball on X/Twitter reported that former Buffalo Bills general manager and Indianapolis Colts team president, Bill Polian, has become a target for fans.
This is due to recent reports suggesting that Polian allegedly convinced the voting population for the upcoming Hall of Fame class to vote against six-time Super Bowl champion and current North Carolina Tar Heels coach, Bill Belichick, from being inducted.
Fans online called for Polian to be removed from the Hall of Fame, given his alleged personal vendetta against Belichick.
“Bill Polian can go back to Macabre Island in Buffalo. Leading the mouth breathers there to “moral victories” and “almost” banners. Since that lame a** franchise can’t finish. #ProFootballHallOfFame,” one fan said.
“Bill Polian should get voted out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame,” another fan shared.
“Bill Polian was a huge influence in Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame vote. Polian big douche bag,” another user wrote.
“Bill Polian is a sour pi** stain on the NFL Hall if he let personal feelings influence a professional decision. As are the voters who listened,” a user posted.
Other X users were quick to recall some of Polian’s lapses during his time as an NFL executive.
“You figure Bill Polian would’ve kept his embarrassing football opinions to himself after his intellect was nuked after he said Lamar Jackson should be a WR and then won 2 MVPs and cemented himself as one of the best QBs of this era, but here he goes with this Bill Belichick take,” one fan explained.
“Bill Polian is the biggest crybaby loser on the planet 😂😂😂. Buddy lost 45-7 in the AFC title game and is still crying. I can’t believe this dude is still alive and still crying. What a pathetic sad loser,” another user captioned with laughing emojis.
“Bill Polian forcing Belichick to serve a 1-year penance for Spygate back in 2007 before making the Hall of Fame is diabolical,” a user claimed.
Polian has been away from the NFL for over a decade now, as his last stint was as the team president for the Colts. Belichick, meanwhile, has moved on from the professional league and is now coaching in the collegiate ranks for the Tar Heels.
Bill Polian Claims That He Did Not Vote Against Bill Belichick
In a later report by NFL writer Matt Verderame, Bill Polian claimed that he did not vote against Bill Belichick from being in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Despite all the reports suggesting that Polian indeed voted against Belichick, the 83-year-old backed himself up by saying, “That’s totally and categorically untrue. I voted for him.” Verderame added that he spoke to Polian over the phone.
