With the NFL draft now over, fans are already looking forward to the upcoming 2026-27 season. This includes fantasy football enjoyers as they also get their own rookie draft. There are plenty of things to consider, such as whether or not that pick is a starter and play decent minutes or whether that pick could shine or be a bust this season.
Here are five of the best picks to target for the upcoming season:
5 Best Picks To Target For the 2026 Fantasy Football Rookie Draft
Fernando Mendoza, Las Vegas Raiders QB
Heisman winner and former Indiana Hoosier Fernando Mendoza is widely seen to be the next starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders. He will be the only quarterback on this list and he is pretty much expected to have some good numbers because of him being a starter.
While it remains to be seen if he could be a franchise player or not, Mendoza does have a very good arm and is known for his accuracy and running game.
Jeremiyah Love, Arizona Cardinals RB
Another potential starter, Jeremiyah Love is a freak athlete who could vastly improve the struggling Arizona offense. Fast and athletic, Love could do very well in the pros, using his explosive speed to possibly leave opposing defenses in the dust.
Carnell Tate, Tennessee Titans WR
Speaking of players who might turn things around for their struggling team, the Tennessee Titans might have a franchise player in Carnell Tate. They already have a generational QB in Cam Ward, and Tate could be a very good long distance option for him, and the wide receiver has shown that he could catch those long throws from deep.
Makai Lemon, Philadelphia Eagles WR
Makai Lemon landed on a team that is already good, and his addition could mean that the Eagles are probably trading AJ Brown soon. With such a massive name possibly being traded away, Lemon could explode and get some numbers in for the birds.
Jadarian Price, Seattle Seahawks RB
Price has some big shoes to fill, as he would be the one replacing Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III. Still, Price has gone through the best defenses in college football and could probably thrive in the NFL, especially as he will be working with one of the best teams in the league, the defending champs themselves.
