According to the CFN Strength of Schedule, the New Mexico 2024 football schedule is the third hardest in the Mountain West this fall. While there are some challenging conference games on the slate for the Lobos, it is the out-of-conference calendar that helps increase the difficulty level for Mendenhall’s men.
After opening the campaign in Week 0 against the Montana State Bobcats, they face road games against the expected Big 12 frontrunner Arizona Wildcats and a trip to the state of Alabama to face the Auburn Tigers of the SEC. The Battle of I-25 is also a road game, with the Lobos facing the New Mexico State Aggies in Las Cruces during Week 5.
Under the Mountain West’s 7+1 scheduling agreement with the Pac-12, the New Mexico 2024 football schedule will feature the Washington State Cougars. That game is a part of a home slate that features the Fresno State Bulldogs, Air Force Falcons, and Wyoming Cowboys — all teams with the potential to challenge atop the conference.
