What Did Kevin Durant Say About Burner Account Allegations? Explaining His First Public Comments on Teammate-Trashing Drama

Kevin Durant has been in hot water since screenshots of his burner account went viral on social media. He allegedly posted questionable opinions on his former and current teammates in the league from a fake account. After the NBA All-Star weekend ended, the 2-time NBA champion was asked for his views on the matter.

Durant reportedly targeted his former Golden State Warriors teammates, including Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, and also current Rockets teammates like Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun. After a practice session with the Rockets, the media persons questioned KD about his views on the allegations.

Durant was evidently frustrated by the question and said:

“I know you have to ask those types of questions, but I’m not here to respond to Twitter nonsense, I’m here to focus on the season and keep it pushing. My teammates know what it is, we’ve been locked in all season, enjoyed that break and we had a great practice today.

The 16-time NBA All-Star is looking to make a title run with the Rockets this season, as the team is placed in fourth in a stacked Western Conference. KD, who leads the franchise in points, along with Alperen Sengun, who leads in rebounds and assists, has kept the team among the top seeds in the conference.

The recent controversy about Durant’s burner account might create an awkward situation in the team’s locker room. The team looks to restart its regular season run once again with the same vigour on February 19, when the Rockets travel to Charlotte for their next bout against the Hornets.

Fans create a dedicated database for Kevin Durant’s “The KD Files”

Some NBA fans have created a dedicated database on a website titled KDFiles that collects and tracks every confirmed and alleged burner account detail related to Durant. There is also an option to search for any athlete or celebrity for their alleged connection to such references.

The live tracker continuously updates as and when new screenshots and videos emerge. The controversy has drawn several opinions from fans and analysts on social media. Only time will tell if the team’s performance gets affected by controversies.
