Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro reportedly engaged in a physical tussle while the two were attending the NBA summer league event in Las Vegas. Herro was recently traded from the Miami Heat to the Milwaukee Bucks in a package in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo. It seemingly opened a can of worms, ultimately resulting in a reported fistfight between the two. However, the league has refused to intervene.
Several screenshots of Herro’s chats with a Miami fan went viral via his burner account. In the conversation, the former Heat guard consistently pushed the idea that the team’s fans were more worried about him than Bam Adebayo, the most expensive player. That allegedly led to the altercation.
The Athletic analyst Joe Vardon shared that the NBA has decided not to take any action on the reported fight between the two stars:
“The NBA will not punish Bam Adebayo for punching Tyler Herro last week”
The league often takes measures in such physical altercations on the court, and sometimes in off-court fights as well. The front office’s decision has seemingly created a rift in the players’ relationships, which might be more evident next season when the two teams will face each other.
Heat insider takes a dig at Tyler Herro after the punching incident with Bam Adebayo
ESPN analyst Shams Charania shared on social media that Bam Adebayo reportedly punched Tyler Herro in the face when he tried to approach the guard for his alleged attacks on the center in his viral chats. However, the conversation seemingly worsened and turned into a tussle.
Addressing the alleged fight, Heat analyst Ira Winderman said on 104.3 WQAM on Tuesday:
“Guys, doesn’t Tyler Herro have the kind of face that makes you want to punch him in the face? Doesn’t he just have that kind of look? He’s that kind of guy. He’s the instigator in high school who is always doing the little digs until it becomes too much. But this time, he put it out worldwide on social media instead.”
While Herro will focus on adjusting to a new destination, Adebayo will look to team up with one of the most explosive frontcourt pieces of the league. The two will move on with a different setup next season.
