“This Is How I Be Watching Dejounte and JT Hoop”: Tyrese Haliburton Drops Comical Post As Achilles Injury Comeback Looms

Last season, Tyrese Haliburton saw a number of his peers go down due to severe injuries. Then, he would suffer his own terrible fate in the NBA Finals when he tore his Achilles in Game 7.

Now, Haliburton and the rest of the NBA community have watched the triumphant returns of Jayson Tatum and Dejounte Murray, who’d also sustained Achilles injuries the year before. The Indiana Pacers star, who is still in the process of recovery, couldn’t help but post a meme to express the layers of emotions that he’s feeling.

“This is how I be watching Dejounte and JT hoop”

In past interviews, Tatum and Haliburton have talked about checking in on each other in a group chat as they went about their respective rehab processes. Now, two players that Haliburton has been corresponding with, have made resounding comebacks on the NBA stage.

On February 24, Murray made his return to the New Orleans Pelicans lineup, scoring 13 points on 45.5% FG shooting over a year after his Achilles injury. A week later, Tatum (who injured his Achilles in the Boston Celtics’ second-round series against the New York Knicks last May) had 15 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists in his own comeback.

Haliburton is the furthest on the recovery timeline, as he tore his Achilles in June. Seeing what Murray and Tatum have been able to do on the court this season, Haliburton has plenty of reason to think that he can eventually regain his top-tier game when he does suit up for the Pacers again.

Sports Host Thinks That 1x NBA Champion Is A Better Player Than Tyrese Haliburton

On the other hand, Tyrese Haliburton might not be so thrilled with a certain take by a popular sports host.

In a clip posted by FanDuel TV, “Run It Back” anchor Michelle Beadle was asked to compare Haliburton to a number of other NBA players. Though Beadle ranked the Pacers star over the likes of Derrick White and Kevin Porter Jr., she claimed that Jamal Murray was a better player than Haliburton.

As far as accomplishments go, Murray has won an NBA title while Haliburton has not. However, in terms of playmaking and clutch shooting, Haliburton may have the edge. Still, a veteran broadcaster like Beadle is entitled to her own opinion.
