Kevin Durant is a legend on the court, but recently, he showed why he is a legend even off the court. The Houston Rockets’ forward caught fans’ attention after he turned trolls into a new lotion deal for him. Durant and Co. are set to host the San Antonio Spurs in their next game tomorrow.
Recently, Durant appeared in a sponsored video in which he read troll comments about his ashy legs. He is one of the few NBA players who wear full-leg sleeves during games, not because of dry skin, but because he “gets cold in arenas,” as he said. In one of the games in 2021, an image of his legs between his sleeve and socks appeared on the internet, and fans had a field day trolling him for the ashy skin on his legs.
However, in his latest brand video with CeraVe, a skincare brand, Durant featured reading fan comments about his dry skin and answered some of them on camera. Fans noticed the financial move and hailed the 2014 NBA MVP for cashing the trolls.
One fan even referred to Angel Reese’s similar move when she used her trolls about her rebounding her own shots and rebranded it as a new shoe, named ‘MeBounds’. The user wrote:
“The Angel Reese effect. Takes the jokes/trolling about em and turns it into cash money records and deals lol!”
Another praised KD’s marketing mind and wrote:
“A LOTION DEAL!!!!! I thought that was a big deal, but if you don’t hurry up and trademark “skincident” good Lord, that was insane marketing. Brilliant really.”
One fan wrote that Durant made money and responded to his trolls:
“my man getting paid off of being ashy and laughing at yal at the same damn time.”
Another wrote that it was a sure way of making money:
“Checkmate. That’s how you make money.”
One fan even suggested that KD might have shown his legs intentionally as a marketing move:
“Damn KD purposely showed ashy legs for a promo, chess not checkers”
Another fan quipped:
“this right is the future of marketing!”

Kevin Durant answered several intriguing questions and even praised some good jokes about him. He informed fans that the night when the image of his ashy legs went viral, he had 35 points in 12 shots. Whatever the condition of his legs, KD’s form is still intact, as he led the Rockets in their last game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Kevin Durant leads the Rockets to back-to-back wins
Kevin Durant scored 33 points, eight rebounds, and two assists to lead the Rockets to back-to-back wins, as the team leads the LA Lakers by just half a game to stay in fifth place in the Western Conference.
KD was aptly supported by the youngster Alperen Sengun, who also added 33 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
Kevin Durant has now had three back-to-back 30-point games, one of which was in a losing case against the Philadelphia 76ers, as the legend is playing his 16th season in the NBA.
The two-time NBA champion will look to add another title with the Rockets after hopping over a few teams in his career.
