Brandin Podziemski has had his ups and downs in his young career. Though he and the rest of the Golden State Warriors are once again headed for the play-in this season, Podziemski gave fans a silver lining after he scored a career-high 30 points in a 124-118 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
After the game, Podziemski made a direct reference to a fan that had been waiting on a 30-piece from the Warriors guard for a long time. Speaking at the post-game media availability, Podziemski offered a reason to “celebrate.”
“The account can be activated now.”
This seems to be a throwaway line from Brandin Podziemski, but it’s a year and a half in the making. Back in November 2024, a fan account called “Podziemski’s Gravity” posted a tweet swearing to never post again on X until the Warriors guard scored 30 in a single game.
Indeed, the account remained silent until this Friday. After the Warriors-Kings game, the fan account put up a tweet showing a GIF of a man waking up from his slumber on what appeared to be a hospital bed.
Though Podziemski had a reason to engage in some lighthearted banter, it does little to diminish the dire situation that the Warriors find themselves in. To make it out of the play-in tournament, the Warriors (who are in the no. 10 spot in the Western Conference) will have to win two road games.
If Golden State does survive this gauntlet, they’ll be in for a seven-game series against the defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder. This is the light at the end of the tunnel for the Warriors, but Podziemski and his teammates will have to keep scratching and clawing.

As for the Warriors’ main man Steph Curry, he admitted after the game that he was also waiting for Brandin Podziemski to get to the 30-point mark.
“I told him we were gonna treat him like Devin Booker when he scored 70 in Boston and they lost…I know he’s been searching for it. Everybody knew it too.”
Notably, Curry finished with just 11 points on 3-for-8 shooting from the field on Friday night.
